I am going to throw the best Halloween party Cabo Verde has ever seen if it's the last thing I do

Yes you heard it here first everyone, old habits die hard! Me and Sister Cluff are throwing a Halloween party (FHE) tonight for all of our member friends and friends we're teaching it's gonna be crraaaazzzzyyy. Which means we're gonna play games and listen to Halloween and have a spiritual thought but still!!! We spent all of our money on a ton of candy so hopefully people come and it's not like our English class we had earlier this week (nobody showed up)😃 And yes Cabo Verde does not officially celebrate Halloween but they will tonight!

Jokes on me last week for making a big deal out of not having water for one day because this week we didn't have it for 4 days! I will admit that bucket showers get less and less fun the more you take them but alas we persevered. When we walked into our house on Saturday and had water we were so stoked so we said a gratitude prayer and then cleaned everything and did lots of laundry hahaha. I've been in Cabo Verde for less than a month and it's already crazy to think about how much I took for granted back home. I wouldn't even think twice about having running water but here, it's a huge luxury to have any at all.

We had exchanges this week! My first one! I got to go to Assomada which is a town in the mountains and it was COLD. Which just means I wasn't constantly sweating and I got to actually use my little top sheet blanket when I slept. I cherished every single moment because the second I got back to Tarrafal, the sweating began once again. Tudo bem! Assomada was awesome though I saw lots and lots of huge spiders hanging from power lines and I had to act like I wasn't scared of them.

During our weekly mission zoom call, President told all of us that we have to leave the house at 10 am every day just to get outside so we're not in our house allll day studying so now we've started to study at the beach! It's so beautiful and we make lots of new friends like women that want to sell us coconuts and men that tell us how beautiful and nice we are😃

During my BOM reading this week, I read 2 Nephi 4, and it's been on my mind ever since.
"nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted. My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions"
I've had to lean on the Lord a lot this week and I have felt what Nephi felt in verse 21:
"He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh."
When I had moments of weakness, He gave me strength, when I had moments of fear or anxiety, he gave me peace, when I had moments of insecurity, He gave me confidence. What a blessing it is to have an all powerful God that has unconditional love for each of us. I am infinitely grateful for the times when He has helped me, and I know he will continue to do so as long as I continue to trust in Him and His will.
"34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever." <3
